THANKS!
The Andover Friends of the Library met last night, and voted to give the library a total of $6,767. This money was raised through the efforts of the Friends with their May 1st Goods & Services Auction, as well as other fundraising endeavors over the past year, and will be used for all sorts of great things for the library. Specifically, we'll use some of the money to buy or renew our many museum passes, produce more programming for kids as well as the whole family, and buy more books on CD and DVDs. Life for the library would be a lot more difficult without the Friends, so if you're not currently a member of the group, won't you consider joining?

Thanks to the Attorney General, here are some new CDs...
In the Fall of 2007, the CT State Attorney General's office distributed funds to CT libraries in the settlement of a case brought by the AG against five of the largest compact disc distributors and three large retailers whose sales practices allegedly led to artificially high retail prices for music CDs. With the $700+ we received, the Andover PL has purchased 67 CDs with the funds we received, and they have been added to our collection. Enjoy!
